This is a film about a soldier who was captured from his unit by rebel forces, tortured and later released. He struggles to keep his sanity, but love keeps him strong

Behind the scenes of Split Unit

I shot this film in a township in South Africa with a few dedicated cast and crew. We tried as much as possible to portray a war situation somewhere in Africa, but in all, Love conquers War and hatred. It was shot on a Canon 7D, and I used an 18-55mm and 50mm lenses and also with the Cinestyle DSLR Picture profile settings. For sound recording, I used the RODE NTG2 directional Mic and a Zoom H6 and a RODE Boom Pole, while I used the RODE NT1 Cardioid Condenser Microphone for the voice overs. For lights, we used the Red head and also a Pro LED video light. I edited the film on final cut 10 and colour graded in Davinci Resolve.
