Wireless GO To Feature on 'Australia By Design Innovations' TV Show + Introducing The Freedman Accelerator Award

We are thrilled to announce that, for the third year in a row, a RØDE innovation will feature in Australia By Design Innovations, the hit TV program showcasing products designed by Australia’s top innovators. Last year, the RØDECaster Pro Podcast Production Studio earned a place in the show’s finale, and this year, another groundbreaking product is set to blow the judges away: the Wireless GO Compact Wireless Microphone System.

Released in April, the Wireless GO has revolutionised audio for video. With the transmitter and receiver weighing just 31g each and an omnidirectional mic built into the transmitter, it is both the world’s smallest and first truly wireless mic system – a game-changer for vloggers, journalists and filmmakers who need a compact and versatile mic that delivers exceptional audio.

Australia By Design Innovations showcases 64 different innovations. From these, the judges will select the show’s top 10 to feature in the eighth and final episode, and finally Australia’s Top Innovation of the Year. The Wireless GO will appear in Episode 3, airing on Sunday the 22nd of September.

RØDE Founder and Chairman Peter Freedman AM is also a judge on the show (though he will be stepping away from his duties in Episode 3), and this year marks the launch of a special award category for Australia by Design Innovations: The Freedman Accelerator Award.

Peter is an avid philanthropic advocate for young designers and innovators in Australia – he recently awarded $50,000 in cash prizes to the winners of the Good Design Awards Next Gen category for designers under 30 – and this support continues with The Freedman Accelerator Award.

The unique initiative has been established to recognise the show’s most outstanding innovation created by a start-up. The winner will receive personal mentorship from Peter on establishing and scaling a business, from securing funding to fostering innovation to market development, and will be given access to RØDE’s precision manufacturing facilities, as well as Peter’s extensive international contacts. Peter will decide on the winner of the award in the final episode of the show.

“I am very excited to announce the very first Freedman Accelerator Award as a part of this year’s Australia By Design Innovations,” says Peter Freedman AM. “For many years RØDE was a small operation with big ideas, and I thoroughly understand the highs and lows involved with building a successful business from the ground up. I look forward to meeting the winner and sharing what I’ve learned about business, design, and innovation throughout my career.”

The Wireless GO will feature on Episode 3 of Australia By Design Innovations Season 3, which is airing on Sunday the 22nd of September at 2.30pm on Channel TEN in Australia and will then be available to stream internationally on TENPlay. The Freedman Accelerator Award will be announced in Episode 8 in November.
